"We’ve pushed hard, throwing ourselves into darker sounds."
Vera Blue’s latest sonic masterpiece, The Way That You Love Me, will be rattling around in your head for weeks.
The singer’s brand new single arrives ahead of a 13-date headline tour that kicks off next month, and is the “start of a new chapter, a new phase and a new storyline”.
Vera Blue described the new single as “a fresh concept and sound inspired by the experiences and behaviours of loving relationships of people coming in and out of my life”.
“A kind of love that can be taken advantage of or returned in ways that might be difficult to understand at the time,” she said.
Its stunning melodies were written and recorded in a small house overlooking the picturesque Avoca Beach in New South Wales, alongside Andy and Thom Mak, who worked with Vera Blue on her acclaimed debut album, Perennial.

“For this song we’ve pushed hard, throwing ourselves into darker sounds, recording techniques and lyrics that pull at your emotions in different ways than before,” she said.
“We are proud of this little beast and we are so excited to be able to share it with you.”
The Way That You Love Me Tour commences in late August at Snowtunes before taking on the rest of the country.
