The track begins in mellow, haunting fashion but the beat soon amps up, taking Yellow Flicker Beat into epic, dark-pop anthem territory — take a listen:
The single is off the forthcoming soundtrack for the next instalment in The Hunger Games movie franchise — The Hunger Games: Mockinjay. It follows on from her contribution to the soundtrack to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire last year.
Lorde's debut album Pure Heroine celebrated a year since its release over the weekend.
