You Will Love Each Other. Yes, all three of you.

You Will Love Each Other. Yes, all three of you.

What would happen if you took the slick production work of Corin Roddick (the man behind the ineffable electronic pop of Purity Ring), the noisy hi-fi synths and ominous tones of Health, and then had indie-rock artist Sophie Allison AKA Soccer Mommy sing over it all? Well, you'd have an incredibly interesting trio collaboration on your hands, that's for sure! What if you took all of this, had Health vocalist Jake Duzsik also lend some vocals and harmonize with Sophie Allison, labelled the work 'Mass Grave', and just suddenly dropped this digital single on top of your ever-eager fanbase's skulls? Well, you'd have done what the almighty Health did this week to their adoring listeners who'll take anything they can damn well get at this stage. On paper, this joint new track between Health, Soccer Mommy, and Purity Ring single shouldn't work, or at least, it shouldn't make much sense. But the end result really of 'Mass Grave' proves otherwise, I feel.

The last time we heard anything from Purity Ring was 'Asido' in 2017 and then that teased new song from a recent trailer for Netflix's The Innocents. The last time we had new content from Health to sink our hungry teeth into was last year's 'Disco 3' compilation album, featuring the incredible and bittersweet new cut, 'Euphoria', which is still as gripping as ever. As for Soccer Mommy, her debut album, 'Clean', actually landed back in March and it ain't half bad! (Hopefully, more good things come her way soon enough. There's a lot of talent there.)

Personally, my fingers are bloodily crossed for a new Health record to drop sometime soon. After all, there's only so many times I can re-listen to 'Death Magic' (2015) like a helpless addict. In the meantime, however, be sure to dig up the bones of 'Mass Grave' below:
