Something tells us he will not find this funny
Harvest Records have pretty much beaten former signee Morrissey at his own game, releasing replica "FUCK HARVEST" T-shirts mere days after the former Smiths frontman's band wore identical threads bearing the phrase on-stage at a concert in Portugal.
The response from Harvest was first noted by Stereogum, and comes after several months of public bickering between the label and the now-departed veteran.
In case you've missed the saga, Morrissey signed with Harvest in January of this year, reportedly for a two-album deal, but the relationship soured in the wake of the release of Morrissey's newest studio album, World Peace Is None Of Your Business. The Sad One publicly criticised Harvest's promotional efforts for the album and made a big deal about leaving (slash-being-dumped-slash-leaving) — and then World Peace... suddenly wasn't available on iTunes (or several other digital retailers) any more. And now this, which — putting aside Morrissey's recent cancer treatments — is a pretty damn genius way to thwart his dramatic protests.
