Hannah GadsbyHannah Gadsby’s triumph of a swansong Nanette has been doing the rounds all over the world in the last 12 months and now it’s coming to a Netflix near you.
As reported by Chortal, Gadsby made the announcement that the streaming service was picking up the show last Saturday to her sold-out Sydney Opera House audience, explaining the presence of cameras.
Nanette is Gadsby’s unflinchingly raw show about mental health, sexual violence and the homophobia she experienced throughout her life. The comedian announced before her 2017 Melbourne International Comedy Festival run that it was to be her last stand-up hour.

The show went on to win the festival's highest honour, The Barry Award, as week as picking up best comedy at Adelaide Fringe and sharing the Edinburgh Comedy Award with John Robins's show The Darkness Of Robins.
Gadsby will perform Nanette, for what is thought to be for the last time, in a month-long residency at London’s Soho Theatre from 5 February. Ten Steps To Nanette, a book based on the show, is also set to be published later in the year.
There’s been no official word from Netflix on when the comedy special will air.
