The Aussie comedian wins her first ever Emmy!
Hannah Gadsby has scored her first-ever Emmy Award this past weekend.
The Tasmanian comic was one of the winners at the first round of the Creative Arts Emmys in LA, taking out the Outstanding Writing For A Variety Special category with her critically-acclaimed 2018 special, Nanette.
Gadsby beat out the likes of Beyoncé, Adam Sandler, Amy Schumer and James Corden's Carpool Karaoke episode with Paul McCartney.
Despite being nominated in six categories, Beyoncé's Homecoming Netflix special didn't finish the night with any wins, unlike RuPaul's Drag Race, which picked up three awards, including Outstanding Hairstyling For A Multi-Camera Series Or Special, Outstanding Costumes For Variety, Nonfiction Or Reality Programming and Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Competition Program, amidst reports an Australian version of popular reality show is in the works.
Meanwhile, HBO’s controversial Michael Jackson documentary, Leaving Neverland, claimed Outstanding Documentary Or Nonfiction Special.
