Hannah Gadsby Is Taking Her Final Stand-up Show To New York City

Comedian Hannah Gadsby is taking her multi-award-winning show Nanette to even taller heights with the announcement of a month long run in New York City.

Fresh off the reveal that streaming giant Netflix has picked the show up for national broadcast, the comedian has dropped dates for a March/April residency at legendary NYC off-broadway theatre, The Soho Playhouse. This will follow on from Gadsby's previously announced month-long run at London's Soho Theatre in February.

The US dates seem likely to be the last shows that Gadsby will perform after she announced her retirement from stand-up prior to Nanette’s debut.

Nanette has been universally praised for its unflinchingly raw look at sexual violence, mental health and the homophobia Gadsby has experience during her life.

The stand-up hour picked up The Barry Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Best Comedy at Adelaide Fringe and the Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2017.

Ten Steps To Nanette, a book based on the show, is also set to be published later in the year.
