With a merch design competition already at play, as well as opportunities for students and the disadvantaged to get themselves involved at the large-scale festivals, organisers have their finger on the pulse when it comes to emerging acts and it allows punters to get behind some of Australia's most up-and-coming acts before they blow up.

In Maitland on 23 April, triple j Unearthed winners and pop punk five-piece Eat Your Heart Out, along with emcee L-FRESH The LION, dance pop outfit The Lulu Raes and angel-voiced Wafia have all been slated in. Joining them will be World Champion, Bad Decisions, Human Movement, Jaytee Hazard, Kinder, LUEN and Frikstailers.

In Canberra on 24 April, Genesis Owusu, Gordi (having just signed to the highly esteemed Jagjaguwar label), SXSW-bound Hockey Dad, LTS, Motown-rock duo Polish Club, as well as Fishing, Klue, Moonbase Commander, Set Mo, Tom Tilley and Frikstailers will be taking to the stage.
