Grentperez Announced As Special Guest For All Rex Orange County Australian Shows

While Rex Orange County’s Australian tour doesn’t touch down to our shores until September, the hype is real – the English singer has already sold out shows in Sydney and Melbourne, adding extra arena shows in each city.

Riding the wave of anticipation, tour promoter Secret Sounds has revealed the special guest joining Rex Orange County in Australia, and it’s none other than Filipino, Western Sydney-based burgeoning star, grentperez.

The local musician, who cites Rex as an influence, describes his music as primarily “indie, soul, jazz, hip-hop type things”, with the occasional venture into unexpected sonic territories. Grentperez doesn’t just offer a unique blend of bedroom pop and R&B and indie music; the Sydneysider also showcases skills in songwriting, production and as a visual artist.

grentperez released two EPs in 2022, Conversations with the Moon and Trail Mix Tape, which saw him accrue over 250 million streams, music videos (some hand-drawn by the artist himself) and a devoted fanbase that catapulted his recent single, Old With You, to reach 1.5 million streams within just three weeks.

Secret Sounds tacked on additional shows for Rex Orange County’s upcoming tour in Melbourne and Sydney a few weeks ago due to unprecedented demand.

In addition to his appearances at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Saturday, 23 September and Margaret Court Arena on Wednesday, 27 September, fans who missed out on the already sold-out first shows can catch the One In A Million hitmaker in action on the following new dates:

Sydney on Sunday, 24 September, and Melbourne on Thursday, 28 September. Tickets to the additional shows are on sale now.

Rex Orange County’s tour makes up for one he was due to embark on last September but ultimately cancelled due to “unforeseen personal circumstances”.
