"For those asking, Kim Burrell will not be appearing on my show."
Texan gospel singer Kim Burrell has been canned from her upcoming appearance on Ellen, after she went on a homophobic rant in church.
As Fairfax reports, Burrell tells the congregation that homosexuality is "perverted".
"I came to tell you about sin. That perverted homosexual spirit, and the spirit of delusion and confusion. It has deceived many men and women, and it's caused us pain on the body of Christ … You as a man, you open your mouth and take a man's penis in your face — you are perverted... You are a woman and will shake your face in another woman's breast, you are perverted."

The Grammy-nominated singer most recently worked with Pharrell for the song I See A Victory for new film Hidden Figures, but even Pharrell has condemned Burrell's speech.
Pharrell posted a photo on Instagram stating, "I condemn hate speech of any kind. There is no room in this world for any kind of prejudice," which singer and Hidden Figures star Janelle Monae reposted, also condemning Burrell's rant.
"I shouldn't even have to post this as you guys should already know where I stand but If you do not pls know I unequivocally repudiate ANY AND ALL hateful comments against the LGBTQ community," Monae wrote.
"I will rejoice when folks stop thinking they ARE GOD, Jesus' assistant, picking and choosing what "sins" are acceptable in the Bible, and using the Bible as a whip!"
