Tickets on sale next Wednesday.
UK alternative animated artists Gorillaz have announced two very special live shows to take place next year.
Appearing as part of the 2022 Splendour In The Grass Festival, the legendary group will hit up Melbourne and Sydney next July. The creation of animator Jamie Hewlett and Blur frontman Damon Albarn, the quartet of Murdoc Niccals, 2D, Noodle and Russel Hobbs will be brought to life onstage in a state of the art 3D and screen-projected extravaganza.
The band have gathered huge critical acclaim for their 2020 release Song Machine: Season One - Strange Timez - which features huge special guests including Elton John, Robert Smith, St Vincent and many more. The Feel Good Inc performers were originally tapped for the 2021 Splendour event, but moved their appearance to next year after the pandemic caused the festival to go online.
Gorillaz made a triumphant return to live performing just last month, with a handful of free shows in the UK for frontline workers and NHS staff.
Tickets for the 2022 tour are on sale 9am, Wednesday, 06 October - with a fan presale set to go live 24 hour prior. For all the info, head to theGuide.
