GoldLink re-enters the conversation with this remix, demanding attention and recognition for his work in combining two worlds in the context of contemporary music.

GoldLink has long been a legend in the world of crossing over dance music with hip-hop. Since his 2016 debut album And After That, We Didn't Talk, he's taken the traditional tropes from each genre to mesh them together to create a gorgeous, inspiring and authentic take on the genres.

On Tuesday he quietly released a remix of Massive by Drake, which featured on his latest, dance music driven album, Honestly, Nevermind. We've previously described the record as lacking inspiration. As he ponders on failed love, Drake taps into the realms of jersey club and piano house using a dance floor as his medium to reflect on his relationships to this point in his life.

It's no surprise  Honestly, Nevermind has received mixed reviews, with many stating that the critiques of the record don't appreciate dance music. There could be no worse take. Drake has done the absolute bare minimum in exploring the wonderful and evocative world of dance music genres, putting together a collection lifeless pop-dance songs.

GoldLink re-enters the conversation with this remix, demanding attention and recognition for his work in combining two worlds in the context of contemporary music. To do so, he's tapped newly structured rendition of the original beat, put together by Scottish producer Sam Gellaitry, alongside a verse from rising pop and also dance utilising sensation PinkPantheress.
