Golden Guitar Awards Unveil 2015 Finalists List
The best and brightest of Australian country music will be recognised this January
Acclaimed songstress Kasey Chambers and equally lauded troubadour Luke O'Shea lead the pack of finalists for the 2015 Country Music Awards Of Australia, affectionately known as the Golden Guitars.
Storming the beaches (or bushland, we suppose) with a hearty six nominations apiece, Chambers and O'Shea are regular names found among the annual prizes' fourteen categories, with which they share finalist honours with the legendary John Williamson and Adam Harvey, who both nabbed five nominations each, as well as triple-nod achievers The McClymonts, Lyn Botwell, Kristy Cox, Harmony James and McAlister Kemp, with Keith Urban also staying strong, with two nominations.
Chambers and O'Shea both share nominations in several categories, including Album Of The Year, Vocal Collaboration Of The Year, APRA Song Of The Year and Video Clip Of The Year. Chambers is also up for Single Of The Year and Female Artist Of The Year; O'Shea stands a chance at taking out Male Artist Of The Year and Toyota Heritage Song Of The Year.
Unveiled at an event held at Sydney's Museum Of Contemporary Art, this year's field of nominated acts is a new record for the Golden Guitars, "spread between signed artists and independents, and is a great testament to the strength and diversity of the Australian country music brand", Country Music Association of Australia vice-chairman Roger Corbett said in a statement.

The 2015 awards well be held from 7.30pm (with pre-event live entertainment from 5pm) on January 24 at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre, the triumphant closing note for the annual Toyota Country Music Festival, next year staged from Friday, January 16, to Sunday, January 25.
