Almost one year since it was first announced, Brisbane's newest live venue, The Fortitude Music Hall, is officially open.
Located in the heart of Brisbane's entertainment precinct on Fortitude Valley’s Brunswick Street Mall, the ribbon cutting ceremony today was attended by the brains behind "The Fort", John "JC" Collins, Chairman of Queensland-based private construction company, Hutchinson Builders, Scott Hutchinson and Secret Sounds co-founder, Paul Piticco.
"This is really about music so I'm gonna shut up now and we're gonna cut this ribbon," Collins said at the ceremony.
"Tonight we'll have some great acts and hopefully regret it tomorrow."
Tonight's opening will feature performances by Ball Park Music, DZ Deathrays and Tia Gostelow on top of special guest appearances from Bernard Fanning and Ian Haug (Powderfinger), Patience Hodgson (The Grates), Thelma Plum, Dave McCormack (Custard), Busby Marou, Sahara Beck and Jeremy Neale.
