Gill Bates & Deafcult Win Triple J Unearthed BIGSOUND Live Competition

The up-and-coming acts will join the sizeable cabal of acts taking over Brisbane next month

Ascendant Aussie artists Gill Bates and Deafcult have been announced as the winners of the 2015 triple j Unearthed BIGSOUND competition, earning their place alongside the rest of Brisbane's three-day conference and showcase's already-massive contingent of live acts.

As triple j reports, the Brissy-bred Deafcult will perform in their first showcase, on Wednesday, 9 September, alongside Gordi, Mathas, Polish Club and Holy Holy before the hip hop stylings of Gill Bates are featured in the second, which goes down on Thursday, 10 September, and at which he opens for Ayla, Baro, Crepes and Splendour In The Grass conquerors Tired Lion.
