Tired Lion, Harts Among 100 Acts Added To Final BIGSOUND 2015 Line-Up

Brisbane's annual conference and showcase will now encompass 15 venues and 150 artists

The 2015 BIGSOUND industry conference and showcase is doing its final checks before take-off for another year, having now confirmed an absolutely whopping 150 artists for this year's proceedings, performing in 15 venues around Brisbane's Fortitude Valley precinct over two nights this September.

Leading the charge of acts joining the existing 50-odd artists announced previously (including Muscles, Gang Of Youths, Holy Holy, City Calm Down, Cosmic Psychos and more) are West Australian darlings-of-the-day Tired Lion and ascendant stringsmith Harts — both freshly buzzing off the back of triumphant showings at Splendour In The Grass — plus Brissy metalcore heroes A Breach Of Silence  and citymates The Belligerents, as well as fellow upstarts JOY, NGAIIRE, DARTS, cln, Fraser A. Gorman, Green Buzzard, Skegss and more than 90 others, all bound for the Valley on September 9-10 for BIGSOUND Live.

There are still a couple of chances for Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast-based artists to get on board the bill via triple j's Unearthed initiative; entries for that close 2 August, and you can find all the relevant details on the competition's website.

The eye-popping full line-up will be descending upon 15 of the Valley's premier venues to perform their BIGSOUND spots, with this year's complement of locales including Black Bear LodgeBrightside (two stages), CrowbarOh Hello (for triple j's Unearthed stage), Press ClubRic's BarThe Elephant HotelThe FoundryThe Flying ClockThe ZooWoolly Mammoth (two stages), The New Globe and a special "mystery" venue.

BIGSOUND doesn't just have a wealth of live music to offer its attendees, of course; being an industry-centric, three-day conference, there is an absolute treasure trove of experts bound for Brisbane to lend their knowledge and experience to the event's series of panels and keynote speeches, including Australian rock icon and activist Peter Garrett, international hip hop luminary Brother Ali, and the editor of Pitchfork, Jessica Hopper.

Tickets for this year's BIGSOUND Live event are on sale now for $75 (two nights — $45 single-night, excluding fees). The first 800 two-night ticket holders will also be given access to the first-ever BIGSOUND closing party at The Triffid on Friday, 11 September.

There are special-rate tickets also on offer for BIGSOUND's industry conference component, which includes entry to BIGSOUND Live plus access to three days of exclusive industry development and revelry.
