"It was hands down one of the most wonderful and fun things I've been a part of."

It seems the US and Canada are about to fall in love with Geraldine Hickey like we have with her latest comedy series gaining international attention.

Metro Sexual, a comedy series based on "an inner-city sexual health clinic on the brink of closure" and starring Hickey as Stephanie Huddleston and Riley Nottingham as Langdon Marsh, has been picked up for international distribution.

According to TV Tonight, the series will now air on US streaming service Crackle and Canadian services OUTtv and Prime Channels.

"Every day is chaos at Metropolitan Sexual Health, but when government cuts come knocking, doctors Langdon and Steph are forced to do whatever they can to save their clinic," reads the show's description.

The series, which is made up of eight 10 minute episodes, premiered on 9Go! late last year.

"Metro Sexual is a comedy about sexual health that will premiere on @9go and @9now," said Hickey in a Facebook post ahead of the show's launch.

"Yes an Australian comedy on commercial TV with two gays in the lead and an exceptional support cast! It was hands down one of the most wonderful and fun things I've been a part of."

Hickey is quickly becoming one of Australia's most loved comedians, thanks to regular appearances on Ten's Have You Been Paying Attention?, her regular gig as part of Melbourne's Triple R radio's Breakfasters team and her successful Melbourne International Comedy Festival runs.
