Big things are on the horizon for the artist

The rise and rise of Perth based indie pop artist Georgi Kay looks set to continue, with the singer-songwriter revealing that she will be working with one of Lana Del Rey's writers.

In an exclusive sit down with theMusic.com.au, Kay told us that when she heads back over to the UK to put further work into her debut album, she's locked in for a co-write with Justin Parker. The writer and producer helped Del Rey pen her mega-hit and breakout song Video Games, plus a handful of other tracks off her 2012 album Born To Die. Parker also co-wrote Laura for acclaimed English artist Bat For Lashes and has worked with Ellie Goulding.

Of her more epic pop sound that's in the works, Kay said, "It's like a mix between Depeche Mode and Florence + The Machine." Sounds pretty cool huh?

The very recent APRA winner for her collab with Ivan Gough on the global hit In My Mind also spoke about her much-talked about Chrissy Amphlett tribute at the awards ceremony last Monday night. Kay then gave us a brief wishlist of names she'd love to work with in the future. Sia, Calvin Harris - here's looking at you!

Oh and did we mention that she played a very lovely acoustic version of her song Ipswich, which is from her latest six-track EP In My Mind. Check it out.
