George Ezra Locks In 2018 Australian Tour

28 July 2017 | 12:48 pm | Staff Writer

The British tunesmith will be joined by local songstress Ainslie Wills for the run.

More George Ezra More George Ezra

Prodigious UK singer-songwriter George Ezra will return to Australian shores for an east-coast sojourn in March next year.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of his frankly delightful new single, Don't Matter Now, and represents a do-over for the 24-year-old's recently postponed antipodean tour plans, which saw him pull out of Splendour In The Grass as well as associated sideshows due to scheduling issues. The three-date trip will kick off at Sydney's Enmore Theatre, heading down to Melbourne and then northward once more to Brisbane.

It's no stretch to expect the outings should be pretty special affairs — the Blame It On Me hitmaker has become a swift live favourite at festivals around the globe over the past couple of years, having graced the stage with his honeyed baritone strains at events such as Glastonbury, Pukkelpop, Lollapalooza and our own Falls and Southbound festivals.

Ezra will be joined by Melbourne-based songstress Ainslie Wills, who, as we're sure you're aware by now, is no slouch herself. Having ridden a wave of momentum around her acclaimed debut album, You Go Your Way, I'll Go Mine to nab herself a nomination for the Australian Music Prize, the local artist ought to prove a perfect pairing for the Brit's quirky and considered brand of folksy intelli-pop.
