Gang Of Youths have announced that guitarist Joji Malani will depart the band following one last show in the US this week.

In a statement posted to Facebook today, the Sydney outfit said that Malani, a founding member of the group, made the decision "a few months ago" and will now "move on into the next phase of his professional life".

"Eight years is a long time for any job, and we are so grateful to have had him for as long as we did," the statement reads.

"We love you and we’re looking forward to seeing all that you will achieve tomorrow and beyond. thank you, thank you, thank you for being part of this with us. we’re gonna miss you."

Malani will wrap up his time with Gang Of Youths at their final stop of a US tour with Mumford & Sons in Oklahoma on Friday.
