Sydney five-piece Gang Of Youths are currently in the middle of their huge Say Yes To Life tour, which will see them visit Melbourne, Fremantle, Hobart, Adelaide and Sydney across a total of 21 shows in celebration of their 2017 multiple ARIA Award-winning album, Go Farther In Lightness.

Every single one of those shows has sold out.

Today marks the start of the band's six-show run at Sydney's iconic Enmore Theatre, which sees them break the venue record for most shows sold out in a single tour. With a concert capacity of 2,500, they're playing to 15,000 in the coming week.

"The meteoric rise we've seen from Gang Of Youths over the past few years has been truly astonishing," says Mark Gibbons, Head Of Bookings at Century Venues, who look after the Enmore, Metro and Factory Theatres and more.

"They came onto our radar as opening support for Cloud Control at the Metro Theatre in 2013 and within two years had sold out the venue for their own headline show.

"We knew it wouldn't be long before they would command hearts and stages throughout the world."

While the group have also recently broken the venue record at Melbourne's Forum Theatre with a whopping eight sold-out shows, the Enmore record is made even sweeter by the fact they're a band born out of Sydney's Inner West, home of the venue.

"Gang Of Youths have claimed the Enmore Concert Record with six sold-out shows and we're thrilled that it's now held by a band who cut its teeth in the venues of the Inner West.

"In a city where live music is too often an unfortunate footnote to conversations around lockout laws, casinos, and gentrification; Gang Of Youths are well-deserved bastions to what local development and nurture can achieve."

According to the band's manager, Kurt Bailey, this tour was all about creating something special and memorable for those attending.

"We wanted to do something different and also special for the fans," shares Bailey.

"We had offers to play arenas and big outdoor spaces but the one amazing thing about Gangs is that they're always thinking about what's best for their audience not what would essentially be easier for them and make them more money.

"It's never been about that with these guys and it never will be. All about the people."
