G Flip Announces Regional Tour After Like A Version Appearance

Fresh on the back of her performance on triple j’s Like A Version this morning, G Flip, aka Georgia Flipo, has announced a massive run of regional shows throughout the country. 

After ripping through the 2001 Moulin Rouge version of Lady Marmalade (with a little help from the likes of Isabella Manfredi, Alex The Astronaut and Thandi Phoenix), the Australian singer-songwriter confirmed the tour will take place throughout May - coinciding with her appearances at the One Tropical Day concert series alongside Hilltop Hoods, Montaigne, Adrian Eagle and Ecca Vandal.

Speaking on her Like A Version cover, Flipo shared, "I’ve been thinking about doing Like A Version for the majority of my life. I’ve always been a triple j listener and it was a long term dream to play my own Like A Version. 

"I’ve been making a shortlist of songs for years including the idea of playing Lady Marmalade with a large band so when triple j asked me to play Like A Version two days before International Women’s Day it felt right to pick Lady Marmalade and get some of my most boss women friends to join me. 

"International Women’s Day is a day to bring together and celebrate women. 

"My cover is a culmination of exactly that. It felt right to gather some of my very talented female buddies and smash out this song together.”

She also performed an unreleased track, Hyperfine, which was teased on social media earlier this week.
