Frank Turner doesn’t typically do things for critical acclaim.

The English punk and folk singer-songwriter has released ten albums, four rarities compilation albums, one “Best Of” album, a split album, and five EPs. He consistently tours—so much so that he attempted to smash the Guinness Book of Records’ title of Most Concerts Headlined in 24 Hours.

It turns out that he made it, and he’s received an advance copy of the 2026 edition of the book, which finds the stat beside an image of Taylor Swift.

“Well, that’s a nice end to the year. Got the official @guinnessworldrecords book for 2026, and it has my mania from last year included, certified and approved. That’s nice. Shout out to all the indie venues and record stores who made it happen, and @musicvenuetrust of course,” Turner wrote alongside images of the 2026 book.

He continued, “I’m basically signed off for the year. Have a great holiday season, however you celebrate.”

Last year, Turner broke the first Music Venue Trust world record by playing 15 gigs in 24 hours, each in a different UK town or city.

However, English “anti-folk” group Crywank undermined the attempt by staging an unofficial run of 16 shows in 16 cities over 24 hours the day before. Unfortunately, their attempt wasn’t recognised by any official awarding bodies.

In May 2026, Frank Turner will return to Australia with his band, The Sleeping Souls, when they embark on a co-headline tour with rockers Bowling For Soup.

The bands will travel across the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne, Frankston, Adelaide, and Fremantle. The shows were announced just under a year after both acts last played shows on our shores, having appeared on the 2024 edition of the Good Things Festival line-up.
