Celebrated UK punk-rock torch-bearer Frank Carter is bringing his newest band, The Rattlesnakes, to Australia this December for a scorching three-show run on the east coast.

Comprising appearances in Melbourne (Reverence Hotel), Brisbane (The Brightside) and Sydney (The Bald Faced Stag, licensed all-ages), the tour stands as a point of introduction not only to The Rattlesnakes — whose fiercely physical, aggressively visceral shows have already helped to cement their place in the contemporary hardcore-punk pantheon — but Carter himself, for those who missed his previous lives with Pure Love and Gallows (the latter of which lands far closer to what he's doing here than the former).

“This is the most violently aggressive punk-rock band I’ve ever been in," he said in a statement. "It's back to my hardcore roots. I’m back to claim my throne: the king has returned.

"When I pick a microphone and scream into it, I feel really good. I've never felt like I have so much purpose; I've never felt so hungry. I feel like I've got a licence to kill again. For the last year, I've felt like a blade that has been getting blunter and blunter. This band has got me sharp again. I feel like a weapon right now. I'm going to do a serious amount of damage."

Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes erupted onto the scene last year, putting out their debut EP, Rotten, by May, and following it up with their first studio full-length, Blossom, only a couple of months later, ushering it to release on 14 August 2015. It peaked at #81 on the ARIA Albums chart. Their most recent release is frenetic new single Snake Eyes, the video for which you can check out below.

Tickets for the band's upcoming Australian tour will go on sale from this Wednesday, 31 August, via Destroy All Lines.
