Former Dream Theater Drummer Mike Portnoy To Tour Australia With All-star Line-up

Drum virtuoso and ex-Dream Theater member, Mike Portnoy, has today announced he will return to Australia this year for the first time in almost eight years alongside some A-list prog-rock musicians. 

The New York-born artist will perform Dream Theater's The 12 Step Suite (written by Portnoy) in its entirety at shows in Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne this November. 

Joining Portnoy at the shows includes Eric Gillette, Richard Henshall and Charlie Griffiths on guitar, Connor Green on bass and Diego Tejeida on keyboards.

Portnoy said the shows are "a tribute to my time with Dream Theater… performed with some of the best musicians in today's prog scene.

"FINALLY playing my 12 Step Suite in its entirety as well as other classic DT songs. As I already stated many times, THIS IS IT! This WILL NOT BE HAPPENING AGAIN! So be sure to catch this ONCE IN A LIFETIME EVENT while you can!"

Tickets go on sale from 9am on Thursday, 11 May.
