Flip Out is returning in 2009. And for the first time, it’ll be held in two states. Run by Stained Circles and Aarght! Records, day-long festival Flip Out will make its Sydney debut at the Manning Bar on August 29. It will be followed by a Melbourne leg at the Corner Hotel – the site of the first Flip Out – on September 5.

Organisers have also announced the first round of acts with Brisbane’s Slug Guts, as well Pink Reason and James Arthur’s Manhunt from the USA performing in both states. Eddy Current Suppression Ring, The UV Race and Royal Headache will augment the Sydney line-up, while Melbourne gets the Ooga Boogas, Naked on the Vague and The Disbelievers. More acts to be confirmed. Tickets for both events on sale June 12.
