First Speakers & Artists Revealed For Australian Music Week 2019

Australian Music Week has unveiled its first speakers and artists for 2019, with US music industry legend Bob Lefsetz confirmed to give a keynote, while local favourites such as Alex Lahey and Ali Barter lead the live music program.

Lefsetz, who is a renowned podcaster and author newsletter The Lefsetz Letter, has made a name for himself as an industry analyst, tackling issues such as streaming, ticketing and more, with talent such as Drake and Quincy Jones among his followers.

With Lefsetz confirmed as a keynote speaker, it’s fitting that AMW will focus on podcasts this year, with Sydney-born, Nashville-based filmmaker and concert promoter Jeremy Dylan, vinyl maestro Nate Goyer and more doing live recordings during the event.

Return to Cronulla Beach from November 6-10, the fifth annual Australian Music Week Conference will also feature more 120 emerging music acts across multiple venues, with the aforementioned artists joined by the following:

“We are mindful of being the only music conference/developing artist showcase in Sydney,” Australian Music Week creator and curator Geoff Trio said.

“Australian Music Week is a non-genre specific music event and this year we will be opening up to the public with free access to all performances on Cronulla Beach across all five days. Bob Lefsetz, as keynote conference speaker, will garner attention for Australian music and artists on the world stage.”

Rounding out the first announcement, Australian Music Week has confirmed it will host the Sydney premiere of Tommy Emmanuel – The Endless Road, an 80-minute documentary that details the rise of the iconic musician.
