Today, the first-ever Bluey Christmas-themed single has been released, ahead of the forthcoming physical release of the EP, Bluey Verandah Santa.

The EP will feature new and original music from the Australian hit animated series and will be released on Friday, 7 November, via BBC Studios’ record label, Demon Music Group. You can pre-order/pre-save your copy here.

Coming from Bluey composer Joff Bush and the series’ music team, three of the tracks will be pressed on Bluey Verandah Santa 7” white vinyl and a Walmart exclusive 7” gold vinyl. You can listen to the track Verandah Santa below.

Of the track Let’s Play Verandah Santa, Bush commented, “This is a truly great representation of an Australian Christmas! It was created using score from the original episode to make sure when you listen to this track, you can feel like you’re back in the episode and playing along with Bluey and her family!”

Another new track on the EP, I Don’t Have A Chimney, stars guest vocalist Emma Dean. Bush added, “We found ourselves writing the lyrics in the style of Emma’s young Santa-obsessed kids - resulting in many guffaws and grins! We had so much fun writing and recording this EP together.”

The EP will also arrive with a Christmas version of the Bluey theme tune, featuring references to other tracks, such as Instrument Parade, and classic festive songs, including Jingle Bells and Joy To The World.

Earlier this year, Bluey surpassed more than one billion streams across all platforms. That milestone followed other achievements, such as winning this year’s AACTA Award for Best Original Score in Television.

Last year, Bluey: Rug Island debuted #1 on Billboard’s Kid Albums Chart and the Soundtracks Chart in the US. Bluey has also garnered international fans, including the Jonas BrothersChildish Gambino, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The series (and its musical accompaniments) continue to receive success in Australia, scoring awards at last year’s Screen Music Awards, ARIA Awards, and the Queensland Music Awards.
