Australia's iconic independent broadcaster, FBi Radio, is gearing up to celebrate its milestone anniversary with a spectacular fundraising event titled FBi Turns 20, which is set to take place on December 9.
Taking over Marrickville Bowlo, The Red Rattler and an open-air street stage, FBi Turns 20 is a one-off fundraiser featuring a stack of incredible local talent (the line-up is to be announced in coming weeks), a testament to FBi Radio's commitment to Eora/Sydney music, arts, and culture over the past two decades.
FBi Radio has made a lasting impact on the Australian music scene, championing local talent and providing a platform for emerging artists. Throughout its twenty-year history, the station has introduced a range of initiatives, including Dance Class, which mentors and supports talent in the electronic music industry, and Tracks, a knowledge-sharing program focused on Western Sydney's music scene.
Speaking to the celebration, Darren Lesaguis, Head of Programming and Music, shared that “FBi Radio is celebrating 20 years is both a marvel and an absolute. That the station has persevered for two decades against all odds, whilst maintaining its independence, is a feat.”
“But of course because where there exist people who love this city, so too will FBi Radio. What better way to celebrate and honour that than with FBi Turns 20. A party nodding to the legacy of the station, and championing the power of its future."
Earlybird Tickets are on sale now for the multi-stage festival fundraiser, with the full lineup to be revealed in late October — so get in early so you don’t miss out.
