Artists, industry execs and experts alike converge in Melbourne mid-next month

This year's Face The Music conference in Melbourne continues to take shape, with organisers today unveiling even more industry experts and artists primed alongside a deeper look at next month's full program.

Leading the charge of newly announced speakers joining the existing line-up of aficionados will be a trio of industry leaders - namely, Warner Music Australia's Mardi Caught, Spinning Top Music's Jodie Regan and Chugg Entertainment's Susan Heymann - who will join forces to canvass lessons, ideas and examples from their joint ocean of inside knowledge to provide delegates with advice on everything from building a record label and touring operations to artist career advancement.

Also joining the fray will be the US-based editor-in-chief of Noisey, Fred Pessaro, who will lend his expertise to a panel on the future of music journalism alongside local contemporaries such as Rolling Stone Australia's Mathew Coyte and writers Brodie Lancaster and Marcus Teague, while things will get just a touch Germanic at the Urban Subcultures panel on the "grit and glitz of musically inspired urban subcultures", featuring Love Parade founder Dr Motte, Berlin-based writer Jochen Arbeit and lecturer/electronic musician David Haberfeld (aka Honeysmack).

Across the board, Face The Music offers its delegates myriad opportunities to wax philosophical on a raft of topics at its series of meetings and workshops for managers, producers and artists, with sessions on offer this year including the triple j Listening Lounge, The Evolution Of Digital Music workshop, Music Hacks digital marketing masterclass, Native Tongue Publishing 101 workshop, a drumming masterclass from the crew at SoundLab, an APRA AMCOS-backed songwriting masterclass with Holy Holy, and much more.
