Coldplay fans who might have missed out on tickets to the veteran English band’s upcoming Australian tour are in luck, with the band announcing extra tickets for their shows today.

Readying themselves to kick off their first tour of Australia since 2016 in just a matter of weeks, increased demand has already necessitated the addition of extra shows, blowing out the number of dates to eight, with four each in Melbourne and Sydney.

Now, promoters Live Nation have announced a limited number of tickets have been released for each of the band’s tour dates due to the “unprecedented demand” following its announcement.

The additional tickets to the band’s local tour (and their ensuing three dates in New Zealand) are on sale now via the Live Nation website.

Coldplay’s Australian tour is slated to kick off in late October and will follow on from their most recent visit to the country in 2023, where they played two exclusive dates in Perth.

Alongside the news of the additional ticket release, Live Nation have also announced theat Coldplay's tour will feature support from singer songwriter Arya Starr and hip hop artist Shone, alongside the previously-announced Emmanuel Kelly.

Just last month, it was announced that PinkPantheress, who had previously been announced as the main support act, had cancelled her Australian tour, citing a need to focus on her “physical health and overall wellbeing”.

“It is with the heaviest heart that I sadly have to announce that I will not be able to continue with the rest of my live shows this year in order to focus on my physical health and overall wellbeing,” the artist wrote on social media. “It appears I have reached a wall which I am struggling to penetrate through. This will include my GUTS tour, Field Day, Summer Sonic, FORM, III Points, and Australia/NZ appearances.”
