Coldplay Announce Extra & Final Shows In Melbourne Due To Demand

It turns out that Melburnians (and fans travelling from interstate and beyond) are especially keen to see Coldplay.

The British band has added third and fourth shows in Melbourne after the band’s pre-sale was met with phenomenal demand this morning, with the fourth concert already being the final one they’ll play in Melbourne on this run.

A third show was added 56 minutes after the Coldplay members’ pre-sale went on sale this morning, with a fourth and final show announced less than an hour later. Coldplay already had two scheduled shows at Marvel Stadium.

With the new dates added, Coldplay will now perform at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on Wednesday, 30 and Thursday, 31 October (original dates), and Saturday, 2 and Sunday, 3 November. The general sale begins on Friday, 1 December, at 10 am local time. You can buy tickets via the Coldplay website.

After their dates in Melbourne, Coldplay have the following dates booked: Wednesday, 6 and Thursday, 7 November at Sydney’s Accor Stadium. On Wednesday, 13 November, they’ll headline Auckland’s Eden Park. Due to demand, Coldplay will play a second show in Auckland on Friday, 15 November.

Coldplay’s October/November 2024 Australian dates follow their recent two-night stint at Perth’s Optus Stadium. Here’s what The Music reviewer Sam Mead had to say about the band’s first Perth show: “The energy is unreal - it’s like sitting in your front room with 60,000 other friends, listening to Chris and the boys set your house on fire in the best way possible.”

Mead also called the show “a pure spectacle of a live performance”, praising the band’s punchy, hard-hitting grooves and journey through their rich 26-year-old catalogue.

Coldplay will bring special guests PinkPantheress and Emmanuel Kelly along for the ride in 2024.
