10 March 2015 | 3:45 pm | Staff Writer

The Victorian duo are making waves after an ascendant 12 months

Melburnian two-piece Halcyon Drive have multiple reasons for celebration today, as theMusic.com.au can reveal they have become the newest signings to Sydney-based management agency Upstairs Music as well as renowned booking firm The Harbour Agency.

The dual signings see them join respective artist rosters featuring the likes of Kim Churchill and The Stiffys (Upstairs Music) as well as Lorde, sleepmakeswaves, Safia, Churchill again and Missy Higgins (Harbour Agency).

The pair have freshly released their debut EP, Cruel Kids, on which they worked with venerated producer Steven Scram (San Cisco, Eagle & The Worm) to capture their captivating live presence, which they've been solidly honing over the past year or so through accomplishments such as a winning spot in triple j Unearthed's NIDA competition, festival slots at NYE On The Hill and St Kilda Fest, national airplay and a jam-packed EP launch show at Ding Dong Lounge.

The full EP is available via iTunes, Rdio, Spotify and Bandcamp, but you can enjoy a little taster below with recently released track Apart and its accompanying clip.
