He will work under Tony Harlow
Mark Poston has taken up a position at Warner Music Australian after a year-long break from the music industry when he quit EMI in the turmoil of its purchase by Universal.
Then Chairman and Senior Vice President, Poston was the highest profile casualty in the major EMI restructure 12 months ago and Billboard have now confirmed the heavy industry rumour that circulated then – that he would rejoin former boss Tony Harlow at Warner.
Poston will be Managing Director for the Australian Parlophone and Warner Bros. Records, reporting to Warner Music Australia's Managing Director Harlow.
The Parlophone label, home to UK icons such as Lily Allen, Blur and Gorillaz, was under EMI's umbrella while Poston was at the label, but new owners Universal sold it to Warner in a series of divestments for over $800 million.
