The veteran percussionist completes the core line-up ahead of the band's impending tour
Returned Aussie outfit Superheist are all set to move forward from this week's tumult with the announcement that veteran drummer John Sankey has completed their line-up ahead of their impending shows in Queensland.
Sankey has a wealth of experience to his credit, and is best known for his work with Devil You Know, the band he co-founded in 2012 with All Shall Perish guitarist Francesco Artusato, as well as with Fear Factory, Devolved and Divine Heresy.
He was the primary driving force behind the ambitious Legion Music Festival — a project in which he still has faith — and the band said in a statement that he had connected with Superheist through their mutual friend Steeden Thompson, of Sydney outfit Horrorwood Mannequins. Sankey steps into the role recently vacated by previous drummer Benny Clarke.
"It's an honour to be asked to play drums for the legendary Superheist at the upcoming Queensland shows," Sankey said of his recruitment in a statement. "I've been a big fan for many years and was stoked to hear the band were back in action smashing out killer new tunes and all the classic hits.

"I'm pumped to get loud and sweaty with the mighty 'heist back on my home ground in Australia; bring it on!"
Sankey's inclusion in Superheist's line-up comes only a couple of days after guitarist dw Norton and frontman Ezekiel Ox confirmed that former bassist Si Durrant would be making his return to the ranks on the upcoming tour, replacing the departed Drew Dedman.
Superheist kick off their 'Scorched Earth' run at the Sunshine Coast next week; see theGuide (below) for all the details.
