Empire Of The Sun ProfileEmpire of the Sun’s 2027 Australian tour just got even bigger, with promoters Frontier Touring revealing the support acts.
The Ask That God: Afterlife Tour of Australia and New Zealand, running in February and March 2027, will feature Australian indie rockers The Temper Trap as main support in Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, while electro-pop outfit The Jungle Giants will support in Adelaide and Perth.
Meanwhile, South African-born, London-based electronic dance-rock duo Roi Turbo – comprising brothers Benjamin and Conor McCarthy – will be the first support act on all Australian and New Zealand shows.
The Ask That God: Afterlife tour is the final live instalment of Empire of the Sun’s Ask That God journey, expanding the universe introduced on the duo’s latest album, released in 2024.
According to a press release, the new shows are “reimagined” and celebrate “imagination, transformation and connection in a rapidly changing world.”
The tour begins at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Friday, 19 February. Following their New Zealand date, the band head to Australia.
The Australian run kicks off at Brisbane’s Riverstage on Sunday, 21 February. It continues at Sydney’s Afterpay Arena on Thursday, 25 February; Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Saturday, 27 February; the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Tuesday, 2 March; and concludes at Perth’s RAC Arena on Saturday, 6 March.
Tickets are now available via the Frontier Touring website.
“Ask That God: Afterlife feels like a tour of unknowns and possibilities — new visions, new plateaus, fragile breakthroughs,” Empire Of The Sun’s Luke Steele commented in a statement.
He added, “I think things are going to happen on this tour that have never happened before. We can’t wait to take this music and this tour to new frontiers. Let’s break barriers together.”
Since the Ask That God tour began in 2024, Empire Of The Sun have sold more than 600,000 tickets worldwide. Their upcoming return to Australia marks the next chapter, with a reimagined production that spotlights the scale, colour, and theatricality that have defined the band’s live performances.
