A New Empire Of The Sun Album Is Coming: 'We've Got Some Really Good Music'

It's been almost four years since they released an album but a new Empire Of The Sun record is on the way. 

Appearing on a new episode of The Green Room Podcast with Neil Griffiths, Nick Littlemore, who forms the Sydney duo alongside Luke Steele, revealed that they have been working together and have completed "quite a lot of work" on the forthcoming album.

"We went to Japan a few times and made some really interesting recordings out there and then we worked back here in LA," Littlemore told host Neil Griffiths.

It's been a while since Empire fans have heard new music. Excluding a previously unreleased track which coincided with a limited edition vinyl to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their debut LP, Walking On A Dream, the pair's last album came back in October 2016 with Two Vines.

Though saying that the new music coming together is "really cool", Littlemore wouldn't speculate on a release date for the new record.

"I don't know, I can't really say for sure," he said.

"We've got some really good music. We'll just see, but it's a strange time."
