"I’m actually very grateful to Zombie, and I owe her everything.”
The fifth celebrity was unveiled on last night's episode of the Masked Singer Australia, revealing former Wiggle and children's entertainer Emma Watkins.
Sporting the Zombie mask, Watkins attempted to sing Creep by Radiohead, however, it was no match for Mirrorball’s reflective take on Bon Jovi’s Always.
The Judges were quick to make their guesses with Mel B set on the idea that Zombie was Australian actress and singer Natalie Bassingthwaighte, while Abbie Chatfield was convinced by her previous theory of actress and singer Bec Hewitt. Dave Hughes threw in a wild card by guessing Hollywood star Rachel McAdams. Chrissie Swan, still on her streak of luck from last week, guessed correctly naming Emma Watkins.
Since leaving the Yellow Wiggle's skivvy behind, Watkins has gone from strength to strength, focusing on her PhD, and working closely within the Deaf community. Watkin is a talented Australian Sign Language interpreter and a powerful advocate for Auslan users.
After being unmasked, the ever-sweet Watkins stated: “I’m really nervous about singing… I grew up as a dancer so I really only learnt to sing through The Wiggles and so I was always very afraid to sing in front of people, so the idea of this show was absolutely perfect. I’m actually very grateful to Zombie, and I owe her everything.”

The clues that helped the judges guess correctly were as follows: "I'm a Zombie but I don't follow the pack, my teenage years were spent in the golden arches! Now, I have quite a few strings to my bow... yellow and black? I was saving that for myself! What I do is dangerous work, ill health seems to follow zombies wherever they go. I haven't always had the drive, but I do know my place and my place isn't doing this. I'm Zombie, and I'm ready for takeoff!"
The Masked Singer continues tonight at 7:30pm on 10 and 10 Play.
