Electric Fields, Beddy Rays & Brendan Maclean Drop New Songs From 'How To Make Gravy' Film

Three more songs from the How To Make Gravy movie soundtrack have landed today, opening up the world of the forthcoming original film based on the classic Paul Kelly song.

The first single released from the soundtrack, The Hook by Meg Washington, was released in September. Featuring a sample of French producer Petit Biscuit’s 2017 hit Sunset Lover, Washington’s track was just one of many surprises to be heard on the soundtrack.

Electric Fields have shared a gut-wrenching rendition of Dream On, Brendan Maclean delivered a soulful version of Fine (both songs performed alongside the movie’s Prison Choir), and Beddy Rays got into the festive spirit, dropping their first-ever Christmas track, Red Hot Chrissy.

How To Make Gravy’s soundtrack is available to pre-order in a limited-edition vinyl release, with fans able to order vinyl variants inspired by ingredients listed in the original song, such as Yolk Yellow, Tomato Red, Salt White, and Gravy Brown. Pre-order your copy here.

Meg Washington, an executive music producer on the film, worked alongside director Nick Waterman to bring the story of Joe, Dan, Rita, Angus and Dolly to life.

In a statement, the duo stated that they worked to ensure the world and characters within the song were vivid, a “testament to Paul’s songwriting.”

“It’s a uniquely Australian story made for film lovers and music fans alike. We can’t wait to share our adaptation of How To Make Gravy with the world.”

The How To Make Gravy film stars Hugo Weaving, Daniel Henshall, and acclaimed French actress Agathe Rousselle. It also features a star-studded ensemble cast and cameos from numerous Aussie musicians.

How To Make Gravy will premiere on Binge on Sunday, 1 December.
