Fans attending Maisie PetersBeyond The Bloom show – where she previews unreleased material from her forthcoming album – at the Forum in Melbourne last night (4 March) went home with huge smiles on their faces after an epic surprise at the show.

Towards the end of her set, Peters introduced a special guest to the stage: Ed Sheeran. Together, the pair performed Sheeran’s hit, Castle on the Hill, ahead of the final show on his Australian tour at the Adelaide Oval today.

Peters and the Frontier Touring accounts shared the moment on their social media profiles. Plus, we’ve seen some extra footage of Sheeran meeting a small group of fans outside the venue before leaving.

“thank u @teddysphotos for singing the best song ever with me at my show in melbourne tonight,” Peters wrote on Instagram. “still remember watching you play this one all 60 something gigs we did together, and it was so magical getting to join you on it for one 🥲 the best to ever do it i love ed sheran!!!!!”

You can watch the performance below.

Maisie Peters is signed to Ed Sheeran’s label, Gingerbread Man Records, via Atlantic UK. She first visited Australia in 2023, opening for Sheeran on his Mathematics World Tour. Today, the pair conclude their respective Australian runs – Sheeran ends his stadium tour, and Peters concludes her intimate theatre shows in support of her new album, Florescence.

Florescence will be released on Friday, 15 May – you can pre-order/pre-save the album here. Sheeran’s latest album, Play, is out now.

In addition to Sheeran performing on the stage with Peters, the British singer-songwriter also welcomed Australia’s Gretta Ray to the Forum to sing Say My Name In Your Sleep and a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s Silver Springs.

Gretta Ray later joined Peters on stage once more at the end of the show, taking part in Peters’ “Dance Routine” for My Regards alongside the singer’s bandmate, Tina, and Aussie pop group Blusher.
