More Eagles More Eagles

Eagles co-founder Don Henley has hit back at Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant, who recently suggested that the only reason the Eagles had reunited several years ago was out of boredom.

The comment came earlier this month in an interview with Rolling Stone as Plant was batting away renewed questions over a potential reunion for the British rock legends. "Do you know why the Eagles said they'd reunite when 'hell freezes over,' but they did it anyway and keep touring?” he said in the interview. "It's not because they were paid a fortune. It's not about the money. It's because they're bored. I'm not bored."

However, during a recent interview with the New Zealand Herald, Henley - who seemed totally unaware of Plant's snipe, merely asking, "Did he?" when the author told him what Plant had said - nonetheless got his own back.

"I am never bored," he said. "The truth is, we enjoy doing it. It is hard work, especially for gentlemen of our age but the fact is it's a fantastic job and it's a wonderful way to make a living and see the world and get to travel and we take our kids with us.

"I really wish [Led Zeppelin] would get back together, because they were one of the greatest bands of all time. I think maybe Robert is worried about hitting those notes. He may not be able to unbutton his shirt any more."

It's good to know that Henley's lost none of his spark, since he and his band mates recently announced they would be heading to Australia and New Zealand in 2015 for The History Of The Eagles tour, and anticipation is running high. Check the link for details.
