The 'Black Books' star will perform 12 shows around the country in July and August
Saturnine stand-up veteran Dylan Moran has announced a return journey to Australia, with a comprehensive route taking him to 12 locations all around the country this July and August.
Kicking off in the country's far left with a gig at Perth's Riverside Theatre on Friday, 10 July, Moran will take his acclaimed new show Off The Hook straight to eager audiences' eyes and ears in Adelaide (14 July), Newcastle (17 July), Sydney (18 July), Hobart (23 July), Launceston (25 July), Melbourne (27 July), Brisbane (4 August), Gold Coast (5 August), Cairns (8 August), Darwin (11 August) and Canberra (15 August).
The star of cult favourite comedy Black Books is no stranger to Aussie shores, and returns to the antipodes fresh off working stints in less-travelled locales such as Kiev, Moscow and Kazakhstan, becoming the first Western comic to perform in St Petersburg along the way, and spent much of last year cavorting around the United States while working away at getting a TV pilot off the ground for US channel ABC.
Despite his worldly ways, though, the love affair between Australians and Moran has been going on for ages — check this video of his excellent performance at the 2006 Melbourne Comedy Gala Festival if you need proof (or a reminder):
