Dune RatsDune Rats brought the house down while opening for Yungblud at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Thursday (15 January) with an Australian anthem, Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again.
While the pub-rock classic is enough on its own, the Brisbane trio took it to another level by bringing out the original member of The Angels, John Brewster, on stage to perform the iconic riffs.
The moment occurred mid-set and witnessed punters in the arena get caught in a frenzy, roaring back every word, and the additional “No way, get fucked, fuck off.”
Notably, this wasn’t the first time that Dune Rats performed the Angels’ classic. In November 2022, the band went viral for their epic cover of Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again (with friends including Ruby Fields and the Brewster brothers), on triple j’s Like A Version.
They performed the track again with Ruby Fields, the Brewster Brothers (The Angels), Jackson Van Issue (Beddy Rays) and Kelly Jansch (TOTTY) at Splendour In The Grass 2023. You can check out the latest rock and roll moment below.

Dune Rats’ support slot for Yungblud has come at the perfect time – not only is the British star the biggest he’s ever been, but the Aussie rockers have just announced their forthcoming album, OLD MATES, and released two singles: SHARKS and a newly recorded version of FUCK IT! from their third EP Smile.
The band said of SHARKS, which features on The Music’s Friday Finds: The Week’s Best New Music playlist, “Sharks is about going against the current of the norm and following what you wanna do even though at the time it seems crazy to achieve it. When you’re in a band, a lot of friends and family think you’re mental to believe it’ll be your career.”
So far, Yungblud has played three shows on his IDOLS Australian tour, with three more to go. The gigs continue this weekend at Brisbane’s Riverstage (Saturday, 17 January, and Sunday, 18 January) and conclude at Perth’s Ice Cream Factory: Outdoors on Tuesday, 20 January. You can find last-minute tickets on the Frontier Touring website.
