Dune Rats Backflip After Rallying Fans Into Prank Calling 'Pervert'

"Please stop calling that number"

More Dune Rats Dune Rats Profile

Brissy-bred stoner-surf-rock trio Dune Rats have had an apparent change of heart after they encouraged their fans to help them prank call a "creepy pervert" by posting the individual's mobile phone number across their social media accounts.

"Please stop calling that number as bullying isn't right," the band tweeted and posted to their Facebook page this afternoon (AEST), a full three hours after their original call to arms.

It isn't exactly clear what caused the backflip — nor the initial incident that earned their ire in the first place — but the band have since deleted the post on Facebook (at the time of writing, it remains on Twitter), leaving only their plea for mercy in its wake.

Dune Rats recently wrapped up shows at New York's CMJ Music Marathon, and will next play December's Festival Of The Sun, in Port Macquarie.
