Batten down the hatches, because a fuckin' cyclone is on its way

More Dune Rats More Dune Rats

Brisbane trio Dune Rats have less than a month to go before dropping their keenly awaited album The Kids Will Know It's Bullshit, and now they've gone and amped up the hype further by announcing a five-date national tour in support of the LP this March.

Seemingly not content to stop there, they've gone and amped up that hype further again and included two bands — Skegss and The Gooch Palms — pretty much exactly as wild and loose and, well, fun as Dune Rats themselves to fill out the bill. This is going to be one hectic tour, is basically the message here. Wear a cup, maybe.

We're not saying that you will get kicked in the crotch, just that you wouldn't want to not be protected if you do cop a stray one to the genitals amid all the mayhem. Better to have it and not need it, etc.

The hurricane-like road show rolls into Fremantle on Saturday 11 March, heading to Adelaide the next evening for an all ages public-holiday-eve affair. Melbourne follows the next weekend at the Croxton, and the weekend after that it's two all-ages shows to finish off, in Brisbane (The Triffid) and Sydney (The Metro).

There's technically a bit of a pre-show to the whole thing in February, when the band play the Mountain Sounds Festival on 18 February, so if you're booked out in March, there's always that option too.

Whatever your poison, full details are available in theGuide.

The Kids Will Know It's Bullshit is out on 3 February via Ratbag/Warner. Pre-orders are available now.
