Linkin Park On 'From Zero' & Their Return To Australia: 'We're More Assured That This Is What We Want To Be Doing'

Doc Neeson Releases New Single

He's covered an Aussie new wave classic

Aussie music legend Doc Neeson has released his first new studio recording in seven years, with his take on the Flash & The Pan song Walking In The Rain.

The original frontman of pub rockers The Angels, Neeson - who was hospitalised with a brain tumour over the 2012/13 holiday period - recorded his cover of the track late last year at Albert Studios, just prior to heading out on the road with the RocKwiz Salutes Vanda and Young tour. It was produced by award-winning producer Brendan Gallagher.

Harry Vanda and George Young of Flash & The Pan recorded the original in 198, with Grace Jones covering the hit single three years later.

Take a listen to Neeson's version below:

Speaking of Flash & The Pan, the band were a talking point at the recent SXSW festival when we spoke to Canadian outfit Chromeo, who referred to the local new wavers as “dope Australian underground, slept on '80s group Flash & The Pan" and expressed how influential they had been on their sound.
