The whirlwind romance is over "for now"
New York-bred electronic duo Darkside felt a little bit more like "blindside" than anything else early this morning, when they announced over Twitter that the less-than-two-year-old project would be wrapping things up with a final show in Brooklyn next month.
The pair — consisting of renowned electronic whiz Nicolas Jaar and multi-instrumentalist Dave Harrington — were only recently in Australia as part of the Splendour In The Grass bill, and now it seems that if you missed out on catching them as part of that trip, you may have missed out altogether, sadly.
Being Twitter, the farewell message was suitably brief, with Jaar and Harrington using the opportunity to thank their fans for the support they have received during their short career together and promoting their final appearance at Brooklyn's Masonic Temple on September 12.

However, don't get too sad just yet - before they called it a day, Darkside dropped two previously unreleased tracks on their Soundcloud page, What They Say and the prophetically titled Gone Too Soon. The songs were originally recorded for the pair's Psychic LP, though discarded, but, according to Jaar, both will appear on the forthcoming WORK compilation the lads have out on Jaar's Other People imprint next month.
