With only eight weeks left until 2016's massive Bluesfest, promoters have announced that iconic US R&B act D'Angelo & The Vanguard, announced back in November, will be performing a special second set at this year's festival.

The Grammy-winning artist will play a second show on Easter Saturday — but D'Angelo isn't the only one playing more than one set this Bluesfest.

Director of Bluesfest, Peter Noble, says, "We are overflowing with talent at Bluesfest this year, and with only eight weeks to go before the festival begins, we are pleased to say that in a year where festivals have experienced much lower than expected sales, and in some cases cancellations, that we are right on track to deliver one of, if not the best, well attended festivals so far."

Gospel-jazz supergroup The Word will also take the stage on two more days — now on Friday, 25 March and Monday, 28 March, bringing their total number of performances up to four of the five days that Bluesfest is on.

St Paul & The Broken Bones have also added an additional set on Friday, 25 March, along with Janiva Magness who will now also play Thursday, 24 March and Saturday, 26 March. This will bring Magness's performances up to four sets all weekend, too.

Similarly, Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real will now be performing all five days at Bluesfest.
