When Australian pop-rock stars 5 Seconds Of Summer come home for their epic EVERYONE’S A STAR! arena tour, they’ll be joined by other homegrown heroes.

Opening the shows in Australia and New Zealand are Brisbane group Cub Sport. Comprising Tim Nelson, Sam Netterfield, Zoe Davis and Dan Puusaari, the band have become known for their rousing, euphoric brand of indie music, with Platinum and Gold-certified singles such as Come On Mess Me Up, Chasin’ and Sometimes to their name.

Having released an ARIA #1 album (2023’s Jesus At The Gay Bar) and an ARIA #2 Album (2020’s LIKE NIRVANA), Cub Sport have cemented themselves as one of Australia’s most significant pop exports. The band didn’t just top the charts in 2023—singer Tim Nelson received his first GRAMMY nomination for contributions to Baynk’s Adolescence.

Reacting to the news that they’d be supporting 5 Seconds Of Summer in arenas at home and in New Zealand, Cub Sport wrote on social media, “gettin the band back together,” and “tour with @5sos is gonna be epic.”

5 Seconds Of Summer’s EVERYONE’S A STAR! tour begins at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Saturday, 24 October. From there, the band heads to Australia.

The Australian shows will take place at Brisbane’s Riverstage on Wednesday, 28 October, Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on Friday, 30 October, Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Monday, 2 November, the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Wednesday, 4 November, and Perth’s Kings Park on Friday, 6 November. Tickets to the shows are available here.

5 Seconds Of Summer are touring in support of their latest album, EVERYONE’S A STAR!, which was released last November.

Recorded throughout 2024 and 2025, EVERYONE’S A STAR! saw 5 Seconds Of Summer holed up in Los Angeles and Nashville studios with producers Jason Evigan (Benson Boone, Papa Roach, Rüfüs Du Sol), Julian Bunetta, and John Ryan (Sabrina Carpenter, Teddy Swims).

“This band is made of four people who could all have their own solo albums where they do it all, sing it all, and write it all,” lead vocalist Luke Hemmings said of the record. “Everyone’s A Star! embodies all of that.

“We were teenagers at the beginning of 5 Seconds Of Summer. We were writing with more naivete, but we said what we were thinking. As time goes on, you tend to get a bit more cautious about what you say, but I think this record has more of our original spirit—but with 15 years of wisdom and a dash of reckless abandon.”
