Cub Sport & Middle Kids Announce Run Of Free East Coast Shows

The six-date jaunt will encompass a series of afternoon shows featuring some special guests.

Beloved local bands Cub Sport and Middle Kids are teaming up with the folks at Summer Bright Lager to stage a series of free-entry afternoon shows up and down the east coast this October and November.

The gigs will include outings in Wollongong, Newcastle, Sydney, Coolangatta, Byron Bay and the Sunshine Coast (at a secret location, no less), with each stop featuring a performance by a local, up-and-coming act to get festivities started before the main event at sundown.

The run comes amid a busy time for both bands; Cub Sport are just about to release their much-anticipated new album, BATS — featuring certified hits such as O Lord and Chasin' — while Middle Kids join the fun hot on the heels of a three-month stint in the US that saw them tackle the stage at Lollapalooza as well as putting on a string of sold-out shows in the country.

The series is the second such event to be held in Summer Bright Lager's Summer Sessions tour, which held its first jaunt in February with Jagwar Ma, Jack River and The Babe Rainbow.
